Bio

Artur Jerzy Dobija

Polish composer and music theoretician born in 1996 in Bielsko-Biała.

He graduated in Composition at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland), where he obtained his Master’s degree in Art (field of study: Composition, Conducting and Theory of Music) in the class of Prof. Eugeniusz Knapik.

In 2022 he graduated in Bachelor Music Theory and Minor Sonology from The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (The Netherlands).

Artur is currently studying Media Technology at Leiden University (Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science). In 2024 he was as Graduate Student Assistant in Sound, Space & Interaction course at the Media Technology curriculum.

From January 2025 Artur works at The Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in the position of Junior System & Network Administrator.

As a keyboard player and singer he performs Renaissance, Baroque & contemporary music (including his own compositions) as well as electronic music and South American Cumbia music.

Associated with Catholic communities, he is a member of Schola Cantorum at Sint-Jacobus de Meerderekerk in The Hague performing Gregorian Chant at Catholic ordinary (Novus Ordo) masses as well as Cantores Sancti Gregorii at Sint-Agneskerk in Amsterdam (performing chant as well as Renaissance polyphonic mass settings and motets at Catholic traditional (Vetus Ordo or “Trident”) masses.
